Derailleur hangers

We’re talking about those tiny bits of frame down the back near the rear axle and sometimes on the seat tube too (depending on your particular frame). They’re simple… they hold the derailleurs in place so you can change gears… and unfortunately they’re very easily bent and broken! Which isn’t a big problem if your frame is fitted with a replaceable hanger, but if it isn’t, no matter how expensive, pretty or “handmade” your bike is… it’s suddenly about as useful as a wart.

But there’s no need to panic because we’ve developed a whole range of repairs for hangers themselves and the dropouts they’re attached to… all types of hangers and dropouts - both replaceable & non-replaceable - on both Road and Mountain bikes - hardtails and full suspension.

Now to be honest, it’s hard to believe that in this day and age not all frames come fitted with replaceable hangers as standard, but because we’re great believers in fixing up the design faults cyclists are often stuck with, we can modify most frames to accept a generic, replaceable hanger. Which means that we can turn your useless “wart” back into a bicycle and you’ll never again have to worry about a little thing like a broken hanger being a terminal problem - see the TOP “before and after” photo to the right..

And of course we can do all of this to almost any frame regardless of whether it’s Aluminium, Steel, CrMo, Titanium or Carbon - see the BOTTOM “before and after” photo to the right… that’s many thousands of dollars worth of Cervelo that we saved for a fraction of the cost of replacing the frame.

PLEASE NOTE

there is a whole album dedicated to dropouts and hangers we’ve repaired in the “Photo Albums” section of the site. Please have a look through that for many more examples of our work.
