Here's Andrew replacing part of a tube that had rusted out from the inside.
-
The new tube is internally sleeved for strength and tacked in place prior to welding.
-
The same frame after our restoration, polishing and chrome plating. Can you spot the repair?
-
We all know how badly chewed up and damaged BMX dropouts can get.
-
But this is what they look like after we're finished with them... regardless of whether they're aluminium dropouts like these.
-
Or CrMo dropouts like these.
-
And that original, pristine look (as if the dropouts have just come out of the factory) is going to be the same regardless of whether we're painting your frame for you or chrome plating it like this one.
-
This Australian made Madison was crashed into something head-on. It came to us broken at the seat & top tube junction, with bent top & down tubes and a deformed head tube. It left our workshop as the bottom pic. If possible we always aim to repair the original frame rather than replacing tubes etc. We managed to do that in this case.
-
But sometimes part of a frame is either so badly beaten up or rusted out that we really don't have any choice. In this case the head tube was so badly damaged we needed to replace it completely.
-
Repaired, restored and powder coated. This is a great finish if you're looking to repaint your frame after the repair. Good powder coating looks absolutely fantastic, is about half the cost and twice the toughness of traditional "wet" spray paint and there's a good range of colours available. But they can't be tinted and mixed or merged from one colour to another on a frame the way traditional spray paints can.
-
This one has been repaired, restored and traditionally "wet" spray painted. It's more expensive than powder coating, but available in just about any colour or combination of colours you want and looks unbelievably good.
-
We can also paint or powder coat parts and are happy to talk you through the best possible finishes for various bits and pieces if you're not sure.
-
You may want to "mix & match" colours and plating.
-
But whatever painted finish you're chasing, our paintshop exists for one reason only... and that's to make sure your frame ends up looking exactly the way you pictured it.
-
And of course, if "colour" isn't your thing, you may want to dress up your frame with show-quality polishing and chrome plating.
